Emma Blanche Logan, age 96 of Rifle, CO, and formerly of Edgemont, SD, passed away February 5, 2009 at the E. Dene Moore Care Center in Rifle, CO.
Emma was born February 20, 1912 in Sundance, WY to Jacob and Lena (Schaffer) Ledogar.
Our Aunt Emma was a very loving, caring lady; she was full of compassion for everyone. She loved talking with new people and was very interested and curious about everyone and everywhere. She lived a full and interesting life, was able to realize her dream a number of years ago and visit France and Germany, the homes of her parents, Lena and Jacob. She still corresponded with relatives in both countries, yet had to have their letters translated, which she found very enjoyable.
Emma loved her years teaching children. She spent many years in the "Bay Area" teaching in Richmond, CA. Many of her students continued to correspond with her throughout her life. She loved flowers, especially roses and tiger lilies. He loved the Black Hills, Northern CA, Sacramento, fresh baked bread, Thanksgiving turkey dinner, the California State Fair, Jazz festival, and traveling anywhere. She loved children, shopping, buffets, the Cathedral in Sacramento, Deadwood, Reno, Tahoe and yes a slot machine or two.
Emma's friend's cover the world from Europe, to friends like Louise and Mary from Sacramento, she adored them, as well as many more too numerous to name.
We will miss you Auntie, your impact on our lives will be with us forever. Most of all, your laugh, oh that laugh, it was contagious. We love you forever.
