Emma Jean (Williams) Getz "Em" Rippe, age 77, of Custer, SD, passed away on February 16, 2015, at her home in the country with her most beloved family members at her side.
Em was born on July 7, 1937, to Joseph and Barbara Williams, in Collinsville, IL, where she and her brother where raised. She married Donald Getz in 1955.
Em's grandson, Jonathon Getz, formerly of Custer, was very special to her and she assisted with raising him on many occasions. She also enjoyed her great grandson, Leo Wager Getz of Keystone, SD, and often visited him.
Everyone that met and talked with Em, the little lady from French Dry Cleaner in Custer, fell in love with her. Em had the ability to talk with everyone and become friends with all who met her. Em will be missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting her over the years and got to know her or had the pleasure of talking with her.
Em is survived by her four daughters, Mary (Dan) Hoefer of Atlanta, GA; Jeanine (Lee) Milne of Papillion, NE; and Donna (Blair) Waite of Custer, SD; Cathy (Dan) Sand of Mitchell, SD; brother, Joseph Williams; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, with Pastor Gary Stetler officiating.
