Erica Lee Cox, 55, of Columbia, KY (formerly of Hot Springs), passed away June 18, 2020 in Louisville, KY at University of Louisville Jewish Hospital.

Erica was born in Pine Ridge, S.D. on May 9, 1965. She grew up in Hot Springs where she graduated from high school and then studied at Chadron State College for 2 years. She was married twice, with the second having two children, Cameron and Cami. Erica loved her children and always wanted the best for them.

Erica battled many medical issues throughout her life but she never let them define her, nor would she want to be remembered by how sick she was. Erica loved living her life to the fullest surrounded by the people who supported her the most, who made her laugh, and who made her feel the best about herself. If Erica wasn't spending time with friends or her children, she loved to do crafts, watch the Ohio State University football games, or watch some of her favorite movies.

Erica is survived by her father, Harry L. Swain; mother, Marilyn Swain; sisters, Rebecca (Lanny) Swain Grant and Sarah (William) Heffler; and her two children, Cameron Cox and Cami Cox, and their father Charles Cox.

A memorial service will be held on July 25, 2020 at 10 am at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1537 Baltimore Ave, Hot Springs, SD 57747.
