Ernest "Ernie" Harvey Hagen, age 54, passed away January 1, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Hot Springs, SD.

Ernie was born to Harvey T. and Lillian (Adolph) Hagen on August 19, 1960, in Denver, CO. He proudly served in the United States Army. Ernie spent the last 20 years of his life employed by Subaru Automotive of Indiana as an assembler and inspector.

Ernie's hobbies included metal detecting, fishing, woodworking, and enjoyed spending time on the Rugby field with his children. Ernie always enjoyed the company of others and liked lending a helping hand to everyone.

He is survived by his loving wife, Norwesta of Hot Springs, SD; son, Joshua Hagen of Seattle, WA.; daughter, Jessica Hagen of Seattle, WA; step sons, Nicholas McMurray of Mesa, AZ; Daniel McMurray of Mesa, AZ; mother, Lillian Hagen of Hot Springs, SD; sister, Pauline (Charles) Foulke of Glendale, AZ.; brothers, Roger Hagen of Hot Springs, SD; and Lester (Teri) Hagen of Hot Springs SD.

Ernie was preceded in death by this father, Harvey Hagen.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs with Pastor Gary Jacobsen officiating.

In Lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial in Ernest's name to benefit the Bethesda Lutheran School in Hot Springs.
