Obituary
Ernest Edward Hedlun, age 77, of Custer, formerly of Fairburn, died September 10, 2006 at Custer Regional Senior Care in Custer, SD.
Ernest was born March 6, 1929 to George and Permelia (Wedmore) Hedlun in Rapid City, SD. Ernest lived is entire life on the home ranch except for two years served in the United States Army from January 26, 1951 to January 26, 1953. He was stationed for one year at base in Manheim, Germany.
Ernest was a member of the Fairburn Odd Fellows Lodge for many years.
Survivors include his three sisters, Bernice (Ralph "Junior") Churchill of Fairburn, SD; Mariann Langer of Hot Springs, SD; June Denevan of Lander, WY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Robinson.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the Fairburn Methodist Church in Fairburn with Pastor Merrill Hartman officiating. Committal service will follow held at Fairburn Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials in Earnest's name be sent to the Fairburn Fire Department or the Fairburn Odd Fellows Lodge.
