OBITUARY FOR

ERVIN GOLDAMMER

Ervin Edward Goldammer was born on December 30, 1927 to Louie and Martha (nee Olawsky) Goldammer.  He farmed from a young age on his parent's and uncle and aunt's farms.  He married Ella Gocken on September 5, 1948.  He continued to farm northwest of Mitchell for many years, retiring and moving to Custer, SD in 2001.  He served on various boards, notably on the Board of Directors of South Dakota Farmers Union and on the Board of Directors of the local Cenex organization and on the Board of Directors of South Dakota Association of Cooperatives, receiving numerous awards for his efforts there and also for Soil Conservation efforts.  He also served as a member of the South Dakota Independent Review Committee, Farm Service Agency, United States Department of Agriculture.  He was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mitchell, South Dakota, serving as Elder and Sunday School Superintendent as well as participating in numerous other ways.

He was called by his Lord Jesus Christ to his heavenly home on Monday, December 9, 2024.  He was at the time of his death a faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer, South Dakota.

He was preceded in his death by his parents, three sisters, Ann Wilson, Gladys Siebenahler, and Marlene Gerlach as well as three brothers, Arnold Goldammer, Arthur Goldammer and Wayne Goldammer.  He is survived by his wife Ella and son Gordon as well as one sister, Edna Sprecher, and three brothers, Wilbert Goldammer, Darrel Goldammer, and Richard Goldammer as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2024, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer, SD with funeral service following at 10:30 a.m.    Committal service will be held immediately after at Custer Cemetery in Custer, SD.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD.
