Eunice B. Marks, 83, of Oral, SD, passed away July 5, 2010 at the Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs, SD.

Eunice was born August 10, 1926 in Dailey, CO to George and Louise (Brundieck) Spanjer. She attended Dailey schools for eleven years and graduated from Sterling High School in 1944. In 1950 she married Gilbert 'Bud' Marks in Sterling, CO. On December 19, 1952 Eunice and Bud moved to a farm in Oral, SD.
She worked as a telephone operator in Sterling, CO. After moving to Oral she worked at Community First Bank and the Veterans Administration kitchen in Hot Springs.

She was a devout Lutheran, her family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, she loved all the sports that were played in the area and attended most area games.

Eunice is survived by her husband Gilbert 'Bud' Marks of Oral; daughter, Linda Leochner of Arvada, CO; son, Willie Marks of Sheridan, WY; sister, Sylvia Spanjer of Haxtun, CO; five grandchildren, Bernie (Stacy) Magby; Brenda Magby; Cory Marks; Josh (Erin) Christner; Bonney (Sylas) Boone; seven great grandchildren, Madison; Jaylice; Damon, Violet, Kobey; Rubey and Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Magby; her parents; two sisters and four brothers.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Hot Springs with Pastor Jake Jacobson officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Oral.

Memorials in Eunice's name may be sent to the Bethesda Lutheran School in Hot Springs.
