Eva M. Streeter of Buffalo Gap, SD, passed away June 30, 2010, at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs, SD.

Eva was born January 24, 1919, in Hot Springs, SD, to Bert and Zella (Graham) Bayliff. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1937. After graduation she attended Denver Beauty School and later established her own beauty shop. Eva married Charles Lovell Deeming August 27, 1938, and to this union was born one son, Charles Larry Deeming.

On October 6, 1946, Eva married Eben W. Streeter of Buffalo Gap, who adopted Charles. In 1960 she became a clerk at the Buffalo Gap Post Office and maintained that position for many years. She later became postmaster, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Streeter was secretary and treasurer of the Buffalo Gap Cemetery Association. She liked reading books, refinishing furniture, painting, sewing and cooking.

Eva is survived by her husband, Eben and son Charles of Buffalo Gap; four grandchildren, William Streeter (Cathy), Greeley CO; Robert Streeter (Susan), Stillwater OK; Jennifer Sarb (Ed) Billings, MT; Richard Streeter (April) Bend, OR; and their mother, Kay, as well as nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2010, at McColley's Chapel in Hot Springs.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2010, with Fr. Claude Vershure officiating. Interment will follow at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery near Buffalo Gap.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Eva's name may be sent to the Buffalo Gap Cemetery.
