Obituary

Evelyn Marie Schrader Hohn died at her home in Palmyra, IL, on Thursday, July 23, 2009. Evelyn was born October 5, 1968, at Spearfish, SD, to Faye Rene (Chubby) Wortham, Schrader and John Schrader, both parents are deceased.

When Evelyn was eight years old, in order to assure they were able to stay together, she joined her two sisters, Darcy and Mary and brother, John and came to live with her aunt and uncle, Donna and Roland March of Hot Springs, SD. The Marchs' had two sons of their own, Tony and Terry March. Evelyn was very proud to have Roland and Donna as her parents growing up. She also claimed Tony and Terry as her big brothers.

She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1986, then went to college in Sioux Falls, SD, to major in court reporting.

She married Darwin Hohn in Sioux Falls on May 25, 1996. After their divorce they remained close friends.

Surviving Evelyn are her sisters, Deb (Ron) Wilkison and family of Roseburg, OR; Darcy (Brian) Popescu and family of Hot Springs; Mary (Jonas) Weiss and family of Hot Springs; brother, John (Rhonda) Schrader and family of Ruthton, MN; grandmother, Shirley Wortham of Hot Springs; aunt and uncle, Donna and Roland March of Hot Springs; Tony March and family also of Hot Springs; Terry March and family of Rapid City, SD; aunt, May (Tiny) McKnight and family of Hot Springs; uncle, Bobby (Lucky) Wortham and family, Tucson, AZ as well as her late uncle, Jackie Wortham's Family of Billings, MT.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; grandfather, Jack Wortham; grandmother, Delores Petty and uncle, Jackie Wortham.

Gale Beebe was a special friend that Evelyn always considered as a sister.

Evelyn grew up on the March Ranch, she loved horses, barrel racing, and rodeos. She was "All-around Cowgirl", and spent her life working with horses. She was a tough little competitor in any rodeo she entered, winning the Junior-junior, Junior, and Senior all-arounds at play-days and 4-H rodeos. Competing in all events at Regional Rodeos, winning all around and qualifying for National High School Rodeo at the South Dakota State Rodeos. Evelyn also participated in College Rodeo during her education at Sioux Falls College and after, going WPRA. Accomplishments are;1998 WPRA Divisional Tour Champion, 2000 Badlands Circuit Finals Champion, 2001 Rodeo Royal Champion in Calgary, AB, 2002 Badlands Circuit Champion, 2002 Badlands Circuit Finals Champion, 2002 Dodge National Circuit Finals Reserve champion, 2007 PWBR Circuit Finals,2008 Great Lakes Circuit Finalist,8 time WPRA Divisional Tour Champion, 8 time Badlands Circuit Finals Qualifier, and 2 time Dodge National Circuit Finals Qualifier.

She was very loved by her family and many friends. We were all blessed to have known her. Her family would like to thank everyone for their support and many acts of kindness.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2009, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2009 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs with Jerry Wyatt and Pastor Bill Martin officiating Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
