Florence Lorraine Huxford, 90, of Hot Springs, SD passed away June 1, 2009, at the Golden Living Center-Prairie Hills Nursing Home in Rapid City, SD.

Florence was born January 8, 1919 in Macedonia, Iowa to Vay Isaac and Clara Etta (Flowers) Denton. She went to school in McIntosh, SD and later moved with her parents to Hot Springs, SD in the early 1930's. Florence met Hobart Huxford in Hot Springs and they were married in 1936. Florence worked at the Dairy Delight (at the top of the viaduct across from the High School) in Hot Springs and later for John Mueller's Hi Lo Grocery store for many years. She was a long-time resident at the Hot Springs Brookside Apartments until she moved to Golden Hills Living Center in Rapid City, SD in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobart Huxford, three Brothers, three Sisters and son, Bruce Huxford.

Florence is survived by Kay Huxford (spouse of Bruce), two sons, Carl (Vicki) Huxford of Marshall, IN; Donald (Lois) Huxford of Rapid City, SD; one brother, Leslie 'Ted' Denton of Central City, SD; eleven grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills with Pastor Morris Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
