Obituary

Frances Lorraine Kaiser of Hot Springs, South Dakota, passed away Friday, June 28 2019, in Centennial, Colorado.  She was 96 years old.

Frances Lorraine Kneebone Kaiser was the youngest of seven children born to John Thomas and Flora Barbara Forney Kneebone May 28, 1923, in Oelrichs, SD.   She spent her early years growing up and going to school in Oelrichs.  Frances graduated in May of 1941 in a class of 10 girls.  She then moved to Hot Springs, South Dakota and went to work.  While living in Hot Springs she met Philip Kaiser, and they were married on October 23, 1942, in Chadron, Nebraska.

Being married a short time Philip enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Spokane, Washington.

Frances left Hot Springs and took the train to Spokane, WA, where they rented a little apartment where she lived only a short time, as the Air Force sent Philip to Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Frances went back to Oelrichs to spend some time with her mother and sister Dorothy.

When the war ended they moved back to Hot Springs.  While living in Hot Springs, Frances went to work at the VA Hospital.  Frances then moved to Des Plaines, IL, where she went to work for Avon Cosmetics in Morton Grove, IL.

After working for Avon for 5 years, Frances moved back to Aurora, Colorado.

While living in Colorado, Frances went back to work as a linen clerk in the VA Hospital in Denver, CO.  After she retired she moved back to Hot Springs with her husband, Philip.

Frances enjoyed traveling, camping and going on bus tours.  One of the highlights of her life was trip to Ontario, Canada.  Frances was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Hot Springs.

Frances was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Springs Senior, The German Club and was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.

Frances leaves to mourn her passing, her two sons, Duane Kaiser; Keith (married to Marsha Kaiser) all of Centennial, CO.

Frances also leaves two grandsons, Terry Kaiser (married to Kellie Kaiser) of Centennial, CO; and Kevin Kaiser (married to Diana Kaiser) of Commerce City, CO.

Frances leaves great granddaughters, Aline Marie Kaiser; Angelina Celia Pena; Eloisa Marie Pena;  great grandsons, Anthony Giovanni Pena; and Kristian Maurice Kaiser.

Frances also leaves great great granddaughters, Aliyah Neva Abeyta, and Janessa Crystal Lavinia Cox.

She was preceded in death by her husband Philip who she was married to for 73 years.  Her sisters, Bernice Kneebone; Gladys Wax; Martha Muhm; Marianne Burg; Dorothy Kneebone; her brother, Charles Kneebone and many nieces and nephews.

Frances will truly be missed as she was a very special lady!

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2019, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.

Committal services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2019, at the Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Gary Jacobsen as officiant.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home of Hot Springs, SD.
