Obituary

Francis Ray 'Frank' Love, age 62, of Oelrichs, SD, passed away February 13, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs, SD.

He was born in Ft/ Collins, CO in 1950. He lived and attended school there, meeting the love of his life, Deborah K. Bingham, at church when he was only eight years old. Over a decade later, Frank made Debbie his wife on March 31, 1973. He gained life experience, many friends and supported his growing family on the road as a truck driver and at home as a" jack-of-all-trades". In 1985 after the births of their three children, Sheldon (Love) Abbott; Angie (Love) Stanton and John Love, they made a home in Ardmore, SD with his young family and the extended family he considered to be his own.

Frank is survived by his wife and three children, son-in-law Trinity Abbott and his seven grandchildren: Donnie L., Eldon L., June L., Scooter (Robert L.), Carle E. F., Jezzmin L, and Jayde L. M. His wife, children, grandchildren and extended family were the light of his life. He shared with them his own passions for life, including any activity that involved his love of the outdoors: hunting, fishing, motorcycles and barbecues. A true cowboy to the heart, Frank spent a lifetime on horseback. A near obsession with country/western and old rock n' roll shared with those he loves at concerts, on long car rides and in life provided a constant soundtrack of "songs that make us think of dad".

Francis Love was a two-time Vietnam Veteran, serving from 1971-1974. After being in ROTC all through high school, he joined the Navy in 11th grade to become a boiler technician, Rank E2. As a proud American, his military career was a great time in his life. He remained supportive of his fellow veterans through memberships with The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His passion for life, sage advice and quick wit will be missed by a great many.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, Melvin Love and Carl Furthmyer; mother, Wanda Furthmyer; brothers, Brian Furthmyer and Joe Furthmyer and sister, Carol Nix.
