Obituary

Joyce Anderson, age 83, passed away April 25, 2012, at her home in Hot Springs, SD. Joyce was born June 25, 1928 in Lincoln, NE, to Louis and Pearl Everson. She graduated from Northeast High School in Lincoln in 1946.

Joyce married Donald K. DeBoer from Lincoln and moved to Oral, SD when their oldest son, Steve, was 6 years old. At that time, the Angostura Irrigation Project was being developed, and he drew farm unit 51 east of Oral. Their daughter, Nancy was born on March 14, 1951, and youngest son, Craig, was born March, 1956.

Joyce worked in medical records at the Hot Springs Hospital and was administrator of various nursing homes.

She later married Marvin Williams and they moved to Whitefish, MT and then to The Dalles, OR. After Marvin's passing, she met and married Carl Anderson. After Carl's death, she moved back to Hot Springs to be closer to her family.

Some of Joyce's interests included piano and voice of which she taught many local students. She enjoyed singing with the Sandstone Singers and was active in the Red Hatters. She really enjoyed her yearly trips to Arizona and loved family get-togethers.

Survivors include her son, Steve (Sharon) DeBoer, Hot Springs; daughter, Nancy (Lennis) Olbricht, Aurora, CO; son, Craig (Laura) DeBoer, Oral; brother, Mel (Edie) Everson, Lincoln, NE; sister, Mildred (Ray) Henriksen, Ogden, IA. She is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Pearl; two brothers, Lyle and Wesley and a sister, Carol.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Prairie View United Methodist Church near Smithwick, SD with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Oral.

A memorial has been established in Joyce's name to benefit Prairie View United Methodist Church.
