George Owen Pugh, Sr., age 84, of Rapid City, SD, passed away November 11, 2013, at the Key City Retirement Home in Sturgis, SD.
George was born October 7, 1929, in Martin, SD, to William Gladstone and Irene Georgia (Babby) Pugh.
He served in the South Dakota National Guard.
Gorge loved playing the piano and often played at the American Legion Halls in Hot Springs, Rochford, Deadwood, Hill City and throughout the Hills area. Even after his stroke and losing the use of three of his fingers he still was able to play and entertain people.
Survivors include his children, William G. (Marty) Pugh of Sturgis, SD; Michael O. (Lisa) Pugh of Winslow, AZ; Kenneth (Lupe) Price of Harlingen, TX; Sam (Lupe) Price of Uvalde, TX; Donna (Mike) Love of Texarkana, TX; Robert Price of Scottsbluff, NE; brother, Richard M. Pugh of Black Hawk, SD; sister, Irene L. Whitaker of Lead, SD; 21 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2013, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Hot Springs with Fr. Claude Vershure officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
