Gertrude ‘Trudy” Carol Henning, 86, of Edgemont, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Springs, SD.

Born November 27, 1939, in Minnesota, to parents John and Elvira Hill. Trudy’s dad, John, at the age of 2 years, immigrated to the United States, from Finland, on a ship. Trudy was very proud of her Finnish heritage.

Trudy married Myrel Henning on September 17, 2005, and they shared many meaningful years together.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Myrel.

Trudy is survived by her children, Peggy (John) Hupp; Scott (Alison) Henning and Melissa Blaylock; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great-great grandchildren. Her family was her greatest pride and her legacy lives on in each of them.
