Gilbert Walking Bull, 76 of Hot Springs, SD passed away April 7, 2007 at his home in Hot Springs, SD.

Gilbert's Parents were Edna Weasel Walking Bull and Charles Walking Bull. Gilbert's paternal grandfather was James Moves Camp, A Lakota Sacred Man. His maternal grandfather was Henry Weasel. Gilbert was raised by his grandparents, the Moves Camps from the age of four and was a traditional Lakota Sacred Man as his grandfather. Gilbert was also a blood relative of Sitting Bull and of Crazy Horse. He was a man willing to share from his heart with all that knew him and all who came to him. His family and many friends will greatly miss him.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Diane Marie Walking Bull, of Hot Springs, SD; three sisters; Wanda Walking Bull of Ill., Chris Hunter of CA., and Tanpa Portell of GA.., his only aunt, Gladys Two Bulls of Pine Ridge, SD; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A two day wake will be held from Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m., April 11, through Friday morning, April 13, at Gilbert's home. There will be a Traditional Lakota Funeral Service held Friday, April 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Gilbert's home. Internment will follow at the Minnekhata Cemetery in Hot Springs, SD.
