Gilford Eugene Deines, age 86, passed away August 1, 2011 at his home in Buffalo Gap, SD.
Gilford was born August 30, 1924, in Ft. Collins, CO, to Henry and Linda (Albrandt) Deines. He attended school in Nebraska and Wyoming. He attended college at Gilead School in upstate New York for two years. He was married to Delores Harrington for 63 years. His early years were spent doing missionary work. Later he worked as a laundry supervisor at the Custer State Hospital, he then worked in the laundry at the Lutheran Hospital in Hot Springs until his retirement.
Gilford was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended the Hot Springs congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was an ambitious man, he loved gardening and traveling and always had a joke ready. Gilford loved meeting and knowing people.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Deines of Buffalo Gap, sons, Bruce (Jakaiko) Deines of Seattle, WA; Jerry (Catherine) Deines of Pasco, WA; Terry Deines of Buffalo Gap; Steven(Cristy) Deines of Rapid City, SD; Russell (Jennifer) Deines of Kahlotus, WA; daughter, Virginia (Alan) Walker of Buffalo Gap; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
At Gilford's request no services will be held.
