Glen Francis Graves, age 84, of Buffalo Gap, SD, passed away on June 30, 2014, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hot Springs, SD.
Glen was born February 24, 1930, in Gering, NE, to Wesley and Wauneita (Swank) Graves. He was a retired advertising salesman and a rancher.
Glen will be remembered for his faith. He always believed in the good of people. He had a very positive attitude, was very caring and had a great sense of humor. He believed that every day was good and beautiful. Glen was honest, a great listener, curious and a devoted husband and father. He loved animals, plants and mowing.
Glen enjoyed restoring vintage pickups, as well as tinkering in the garage. He loved yard and flower care, clocks, playing Yahtzee and word search puzzles.
Survivors include wife, Georgia (Bellah) Graves of Buffalo Gap; children, Robert Griggs of Brandon, SD; Gary Griggs of Oklahoma City, OK; Carolyn (Mike) Connolly of Alma, KS; Reed (Bridget) Graves of Akron, IA; Connie (David) Swanson of Hot Springs, SD; Wesley Graves of Denver, CO; John Spain of Newcastle, WY; Georgina (Mark) Thompson of Wilkesboro, NC; Adam (Danielle) McFarland of Kalispell, MT; Patricia (Adam) Hoffman of Crawford, NE; sisters, Terry (Kermit) Miland of Medical Lake, WA; Patricia Anderson of Austin, TX; Shirley Lois (Lloyd) Clapper of Coeur d'Alene, ID; as well as numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald; brothers, Jack and Robert; and sister, Bonnie.
Committal services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery.
