Obituary

Glyn Earl Mangus died October 10, 2013, at his home in Hot Springs, SD.

Glyn was born on March 22, 1956, in Alliance, OH. God took him to his eternal home after 56 years, 6 months and 18 days. Glyn had lived in many places in his life including Highmore, SD; Las Vegas, NV; Orlando, FL; Port Richey, FL; Burlington, NC; and Alliance, OH. He was committed Christian who loved to share what 'his JESUS' had done for him. He was currently a member of Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs where he was a worship leader.

Glyn was a gifted musician and composer and found much joy in spending time daily playing his guitars. He loved to travel and meet new people especially on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which he named Deborah. He was also an avid reader and after his Bible, he especially loved Western novels with Louis L'Amour being a favorite.

Glyn was a custom house painter for most of his life until health issues forced an early retirement. He was meticulous in his trade. Many high-end and historical residences in Orlando, FL, bear witness to his giftedness with paints and stains.

Glyn is survived by three children, 'Phoenix' Anthony Mangus (Mary) of Greensboro, NC; Mechelle Mangus (Joel) of Melbourne, FL; and Joshua Glyn Mangus of Mebane, NC; and a granddaughter by Mechelle, Ariel Mangus, Melbourne, FL; four siblings; Beth A. Mangus Roberts (DQ) of Winston Salem, NC; Cynthia L Mangus Bondurant (Curt), Gloucester Point, VA; Donna McCoy, Las Vegas, NV; and George McCoy (Mary), Las Cruces, NV; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Jean Dougherty Mangus and Glynwood Earl Mangus as well as by his grandparents Margaret Marie Elliott Mangus; Harriett Armstrong Dougherty and Earl Mangus.
