Grant W. Landers, 58, of Freehold NJ, died unexpectedly at his home April 5, 2026. He was born September 10, 1967, to Tom and Barbara Landers in Hot Springs, S.D. and was named after his grandfather George Washington Landers (“G.W. “)

As a youngster growing up on the ranch, he loved to ride his four-wheeler and help his dad and brother work cattle. He was good at art, loved to play drums and hang out with his friends.

He attended Maitland Country School and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1987. In 1988 he attended Georgia Military College in Atlanta, GA and enlisted in the Army. He fought in the Gulf War as a Combat engineer II and was reclassified as a System Software Analyst and tech specialist. He was enlisted for seven years and when he was discharged from the service, he was hired by several tech companies as a Senior Software Consultant/ Engineer. He lived and worked in Denver, Chicago and New York. He excelled at presenting to large and small companies and trained sales staff. He also really liked working with security infrastructures.

He enjoyed his career very much and loved traveling and meeting new people.

Grant had the ability to light up a room and make everyone feel welcome. His peers spoke highly of him, and he made many lasting friendships.

In 2004 he married his wife Allison in St Lucia, West Indies and they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

He took an early retirement due to health reasons, but he continued to volunteer as much as he could at a non- profit animal rescue farm. He loved all animals, but he especially loved working with the horses.

Survivors include his wife Allison, his mother Barbara Landers, sister Tamar Schuelke (Darrell) and brother Jay Landers, Cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Tom Landers and a sister Annalise Landers.

A private cremation with military honors was held in New Jersey.

A private graveside memorial is pending at Hot Springs Evergreen Cemetery with Chamberlain McColleys Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.

Memorials are suggested to the Hot Springs, SD American Legion.
