Obituary

Harold "Dean" Hitshew, 64, passed away early Sunday morning August 7, 2016, at Custer Regional Senior Care Center in Custer, SD, from a long lengthy illness.

Dean was born December 28, 1951, to Bernice Annebelle Martin and Harold Hitshew; he was one of 10 children. He grew up in Douglas and Newcastle, WY, and later moved to Custer, SD, where he resided until his passing. As a boy he loved to explore, loved animals, especially horses, rescuing hurt and wounded animals, and finding old coins. He attended Gertrude Burns Elementary and Newcastle Junior High Schools and graduated in 1972, from Newcastle High School in Newcastle, WY. He worked many, many years for the oilfields until an accident left him disabled. He also worked at Flintstones driving the train. He became a father later in life to his beautiful daughter, Jazmin Lyn, who is now attending the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. He was a wonderful, devoted, proud father. She was his whole world and he was everything to her.

Dean is survived by his daughter, Jazmin Lyn Hitshew, of Vermillion, SD; twin sisters, Donna Hitshew of Worland, WY and Debra Ellis of Gillette, WY; also, since he came from a large family, he has many many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Hitshew Bozanich; father, Harold Hitshew; brothers, Norman, Dwane, Kenny, David; sisters, Karen, Karmen, and Dianne.

Dean was a very good person with a heart of gold and he was good to everyone.
