Harold Franklin Morgan, age 88, of Custer, SD, passed away January 4, 2017, at Custer Regional Hospital in Custer.

Harold attended school in Custer, grades 1-12. Harold enlisted in the U.S. Navy in May of 1946, and was honorably discharged in May of 1948. After leaving the Navy, Harold attended the University of Montana in Missoula, MT.

Harold married Lorraine Ousley, on October 14,1950, in Minneapolis, MN, and lived in Custer until 1957. They had four children, Cindy, Mark, Matt, and Laura. They then relocated to Seattle, WA, where Harold began his employment with the Boeing Company, enjoying a career that lasted 35 years. At the time of retirement, the family was living in New Orleans, LA. Harold and Lorraine then moved back to Custer, where Harold enjoyed many years participating in several aspects of the game of golf. His great joy was teaching young people that golf can be a life sport. Declining health limited Harold's active lifestyle, but he never lost his love for life and the people in it.

Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lorraine Eleanor (Ousley) Morgan; daughters, Cindy (Mike) Woods of Kennesaw, GA; Laura Dahl of Meridian, IA; son, Matt (Sheila) Morgan of Custer; 5 grandchildren, Jill (Mike)Wasson of Edmond, OK; Nicole Garrigan of Charleston, SC, Lindsay (Brett) Christy of Kennesaw, GA, Jake Dahl, Max Dahl of Meridian, IA, and Courtney Johnson of Custer; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Agnes Kline of Custer; nephew, Bob Kline of Pennsylvania; great nephews, David Kine of Custer; Mike Kline of Michigan; as well as numerous cousins in South Dakota, Missouri, and Kansas.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margie, and son, Mark Thomas.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Custer Community Church in Custer, with Rev. Dustin Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow at the Custer Cemetery, at which time Masonic services will be held.
