Hulda Brandt, 95, of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Fall River Health Center Assisted Living in Hot Springs, after a short illness.
Hulda was born May 8, 1911, on the family farm northeast of Kramer, ND to Ludwig and Christina (Weisz) Gienger. She was reared there and attended White Spur Country School in the area. She married Herman Brandt on October 14, 1938 in Kramer, ND. They made their home near Kramer for two years, and then moved to a farm west of Upham. They retired from active farming in 1980, but had continued to live on the farm.
Hulda was confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Kramer, ND. She was a member of the Peace Reformed Church and the Mission Guild of the Church. When the church was closed, she became a member of the Harvest Reformed Church of Minot, ND.
Herman passed away on March 29, 1993. Hulda made her home in Bottineau, ND until October 2004, when she moved to Hilltop Assisted Living in Hot Springs, SD.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Moen and husband, Patrick Harter of Hot Springs, SD; two grandchildren, Stewart and wife, Teresa Moen of Maryville, TN; Brenda Moen and husband, Terry Thomas of Interior, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; twin sons, Dayton and Clayton; one granddaughter, Cheryl; four brothers, Samuel, Jacob, Theodore and John; five sisters, Lydia, Eva, Christina, Katherine and Emma.
Funeral services will be held in Bottineau, ND and interment will be at the Peace Reformed Church Cemetery in Upham, ND.
