Obituary

Isabel E. Duster, age 84, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away December 11, 2011, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Isabel was born October 12, 1927, in Rapid City, SD, to Ole and Dorothy (Stanton) Anderson.

On December 29, 1945, she married Elvin J. 'Buster' Duster. They owned and operated a dairy around Sheridan Lake until 1959. They farmed in Oral, SD for over 45 years. She moved to Hot Springs and lived there until the time of her death.

Isabel was known in the community and at work as 'Dusty'. She worked in the medical setting for about 50 years, retiring at the age of 80. She was a member of the Southern Hills Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the Oral Extension Club, and volunteered at Castle Manor Nursing Home.

She always had a smile on her face and an open ear for anyone that needed someone to listen to them. She was a very compassionate person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends, she will always remain in our hearts forever.

Isabel is survived by her husband, Elvin of Hot Springs; two sons, Clarence (Mary) Duster of Buffalo, WY; Mike (Lynn) Duster of Loveland, CO; three daughters, Judy Muhm of Belle Fourche, SD; Susan Cornay of Albuquerque, NM; Terri (Manuel) Cornay of Hot Springs; one brother, Donald (Shirley) Anderson of San Diego, CA; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Isabel is preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Dorothy (Stanton) Anderson and son, Nicholas, two grandsons, Michael Duster and Michael Cornay; son-in-law, Kenny Muhm; and two brothers, Anen and Bob.

Wake services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2011, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Fr. Thomas Tierney officiating.

Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

A memorial in Isabel's name has been established for the Toys for Tots program and may be sent to Clarence Duster, 1027 N. Burritt Avenue, Buffalo, WY 82834.
