Obituary
Iva M. Hallett, age 96, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away August 19, 2010, at Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs.
Iva was born October 28, 1913 in Valparso, NE and raised in Shawnee, WY to John and Mary (Smolik) Nance. On April 23, 1942 she married Floyd V. Hallett in Rapid City, SD. Along with her husband, Iva ranched until her retirement in 1974 at which time she moved to Hot Springs.
Iva held many jobs anywhere from a beauty operator, Post Office worker in Pine Ridge, and in the Social Security office, rancher and a wife. Iva always enjoyed a good ole county dance with good ole fashion music; Iva had a colorful way with words.
Iva is survived by her sister, Nellie Kosine of Rapid City, SD, nephews Fred Nance of Glendo, WY, and Jess Nance of Sheridan, WY numerous great niece and great nephews, and all of her dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Loyd William Nance and Roy Lewis Nance, husbands Robert "Chick" Bright, Elwin Harris and Floyd Vincent Hallett.
At Iva's request there will be no services.
