Jack Lee Gulzow, Jr. lived his life to the fullest. Born August 27, 1982, in Denver, CO, Jack was a carefree and loving child. His activities included hockey, baseball, fishing, camping and other sporting events. Participating in Boy Scouts, he genuinely helped everyone he could in any way he could. As a teenager, he dedicated his life to God at Landmark Tabernacle in Denver. Upon graduating from Bear Creek High School in 2001, he attended Westwood College focusing on telecommunications. He worked for MCI and Comcast for eight combined years excelling at every opportunity. The summer of 2003 Jack unexpectedly met Jerusha Goetsch. They were married on the Third of September, 2005 and began sharing their lives together in Denver, CO. For three years they enjoyed making new friends, working hard, and focusing on church and family. In October 2008 Jack and Jerusha moved to Hot Springs, SD, to minister to those in need. He became pastor of the Pentecostal Church of Hot Springs in April 2009 and licensed with the United Pentecostal Church International in June 2009.
He is survived by his wife Jerusha Gulzow of Hot Springs, SD; his mother CaSandra Romero of Denver, CO; his father Jack Gulzow, Sr. of Denver, CO; and his parents, Michael and Debra Vigil of Scottsdale, AZ; siblings Jeremiah (Jessica) Vigil of Laguna Niguel, CA; Angela Dock (Titus) of Lakewood, CO; Angel (Troy) Vivas of Littleton, CO; April Romero of Aurora, CO; Chris Gulzow of Lakewood, CO; Vanessa Baker of Denver, CO; grandparents Harold & Joyce Trujillo of Pueblo, CO; Aaron Vigil of Denver, CO; Henry & Crusita Martinez of Denver, CO; and many nieces and nephews. Jack always reached out to others and his unconditional love and commitment brought joy and warmth to all the lives he touched. The memories he left us will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2009 at the United Churches in Hot Springs.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the United Churches with Rev. Billy Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Jack's name to benefit the Pentecostal Church of Hot Springs, SD.
