Jack Kitchen cards by Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Homes

Jack Kitchen, 85, of Custer, SD, passed away October 20, 2025.   He was born April 21, 1940, in Hot Springs, SD, to Vernon and Evelyn (McFayden) Kitchen.   He graduated from Custer High School.

Jack was honorably discharged from the U.S. National Guard and worked for the VR Sawmill; Custer Lumber; both the City and County of Custer and after retiring from the city he worked for Bradeen Auctions.  He was quite the storyteller and loved collecting things.

Jack is survived by his sister, Patsy (James) Hattervig of Custer; half-sister, Joan of Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Denise Dillion; his parents, Evelyn and Vern and his sister, Sharie.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD, with Masonic Rites presented.  Committal service following at Custer Cemetery.
