Jack Norwood Powell, 89, died Friday, Jan 16, 2026 at the VA Hospital, Hot Springs, SD.

Jack was born June 25, 1936, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. His family moved to Oakdale, California when Jack was 7. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and when he was honorably discharged, he married and had four children, Rodney Jack, Michael Niel, Julie Lynn, and Karen Marie Powell.
Jack enjoyed several different jobs. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Roseville, CA; The Western Pacific Railroad in Elko, NV. Also, several gold mines. Finishing his career at the Newmont Gold Mine out of Elko, NV.

Jack was proceeded in death by his parents, Ernie and Leona Powell. His brothers, Tom, Jim, and Wayne Powell, and sister Pat Beason. And son, Michael Powell, and step-daughter Titia Murrey.

Jack was known for his humor and wit. Jack's wife Titia Powell, and children and step-children and grandchildren and great grandchildren, plus many friends will miss him.
