Obituary

James Clifford Bebbington, age 70 peacefully took his last breath on the morning of
December 31, 2023 at home and surrounded by family.

Born in Hot Springs SD, he was the son of Pat and Flossie Bebbington. Cliff was proud to
belong to the 3 rd generation born and raised in the Custer Area.

While there weren't too many things he couldn't do he primarily made his living as an expert
in local mining endeavors. His extensive knowledge of local geology, drilling, and blasting
was well known and put to good use in numerous local mines. When not working in this field
he was also frequently sought out for his welding and fabrication talents. Being an
adventurous sort he also spent 10 seasons in Alaska helping keep a set net crew running
through the salmon season.

Cliff had many interests and was a wealth of knowledge on many things but, it was his love
for and knowledge of firearms that was perhaps most familiar amongst his friends and
acquaintances.

He was a quiet man and lived his life in a simple manner. Those who knew him enjoyed his
sharp mind, quick wit, good nature, and wise insights. He could fix anything and was the
ultimate handy man. People came to see him for advice right up to his last days.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Linda, son Tristan, daughter in law Sonia, daughter
Autumn Durham, son in law Jeff, sister Tana Norvell, nephew Jeremy, eight grand children,
and four great grand children.

Cliff loved his family and friends. He helped people whenever he could, was kind to animals,
and will be missed by those who knew him.

Per Cliff's wishes, no services will be held.
