March 20, 1961 – February 15, 2024
James D. Britton, of Mesa, AZ, passed away at the age of 62. He was born March 20, 1961, in Hot Springs, SD to Jesse and Jacquelyn (Hoffman) Britton. He died February 15, 2024, in Chadron, NE. He flew home to say goodbyes to family here in Chadron. Leaving behind his sister, Betty Jo Hunter (BJ) of Hot Springs, SD; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Mary Britton of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces and nephews, Lee Hunter; Lona Meredith, Emma Britton; Uncles, Norm and Aunt Betty Martin; Aunt, Donna; Uncle, Steve; Aunt Trish, along with many cousins and friends.
James was a quiet and kind gentleman. He always was, even as a child. He would agree that was because of his older sister always telling him what to do. When he started something, he finished it. He graduated from Liberty High School 1981, in Kirk, CO. He worked for Coop Grain for a time and moved to AZ and completed his education graduating from DeVry Institute of Technology February of 1987. He soon began to work with Eberle Design, Inc. He would have been there 33 years this March. James loved his work and the people he worked with and for. He often had discussions with his brother, Ben, about their favorite baseball teams. James rooting for Arizona and Ben for Colorado.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Jacquelyn and his brother, Ben Britton.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs, SD followed by committal services at Buffalo Gap Cemetery in Buffalo Gap, SD.
Memorials may be given to Chadron Medical Clinic Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.
