James Charles Goodrich
Montague, Michigan, Jim Goodrich, 76, met the goal of his faith when he went home to be with his Savior on August 5, 2013 at his family's home in Custer, SD. He was surrounded by family as the Lord peacefully called him home.
Jim was born on September 17, 1936, to Lewis and Anna Goodrich. He grew up in Whitehall and later moved to Montague where he met his wife Karen of 58 years. Together they raised 4 children and enjoyed all that life had to offer. Jim loved hunting and was never shy to share a few hunting stories with you. He loved RC Cola, sweets of any kind, traveling and making everyone laugh. He also loved old cars and could name the make, model and year of any car you spotted. But what he loved most was God and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, his sons: Jim and his wife Robynne, Joe and his wife Kim, Jay and his wife Michelle, and his daughter Ann Webster and her husband Wayne. Also by his grandchildren: Jen Gordon (Barry), Joe Goodrich (Amy), Kristie Meyer (Jim), Chris Goodrich (Natalie), Bobby Goodrich, Jim Goodrich, Samantha Goodrich-Scudmore, David Goodrich , Eric Goodrich (Sarah), Kate Goodrich, Samantha Tate, Jeff Tate. He also has 17 great grandchildren: Jon, Sarah, Rachel, David, Hannah, Jeremy, Alex, Alyssa, Emily, Serenity, Maddie, Abby, Amy, James, Eli, Lily, and Grayson.
Jim is also survived by his sister Maryann Duncan (Bob) and his brothers Chuck Goodrich (Dorne), Dick Goodrich (Dawn), Carl Baxter (foster brother), Maxine Streblow (sister-in-law), and brother-in-law: Bob Smith and Richard LaPree and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Anna Goodrich and his sister Marge LaPree.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday August 17th at 11am with lunch to follow at Rothbury Community Chruch in Rothbury, Michigan.
