James Lyle 'Jim' Reichelt, 48, passed away peacefully at his home in Custer, SD, surrounded by family on April 25, 2010, after a battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Sioux Falls, SD, to James and Lorna (Gustafson) Reichelt on July 7, 1961.
He enjoyed bowling and was on a league while living in Sioux Falls. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching television.
Jim worked various construction jobs since the age of eighteen. He worked for Brooks Construction of Sioux Falls for fifteen years. After moving to the Black Hills in 1995, Jim worked for Heavy Construction and J. Scull Construction until cancer forced him to quit a job he loved in June of 2009.
Jim is survived by his wife of twenty years, Patty; three sons, Shawn Krueger and wife, Crystal, of Custer; Alan Reichelt of Custer; James Reichelt of Custer; one daughter, Amanda Reichelt of Billings, MT; grandchildren, Elijah and grandbaby due in June of Custer; Kale and grandbaby due in October of Billings; father and stepmother, James and Mary Reichelt of Sioux Falls; three sisters, Lori Melin of Sioux Falls; Kathy Roemeling (Kevin) of Sioux Falls; Kerri (Tony) Konshak of Harrisburg, SD; grandmother, Ann Reichelt of Sioux Falls; his mother-in-law, Mildred Gluhm of Rapid City; two brothers-in-law, Donald Gluhm of Hot Springs, SD; Dan (Pondie) Gluhm of Rapid City; three sisters-in-law, Lue (Griff) Griffith of Casper WY; Barb (Ken) Horton of Lennox, SD; Gerri (Bob) Bridgford of Lennox; one step sister, Cindy (Joe) Kapp of Des Moines, IA; two step brothers, Nick Eakins of Perry, IA; Tim (Naomi) Clark of Agency, IA; his dear friends, Randy and Deanna Centra of Sioux Falls; Doug and Cindy Peacock of Sioux Falls as well as a host of special friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Lorna Reichelt, brother, Alan; maternal grandparents; parental grandfather and his father-in-law.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Custer Community Church with Pastor Bill Comfort and Pastor Neil Hughes officiating.
