James Preston 'Ol Jim' Stratton, 81, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away July 3, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hot Springs.

He served in the United States Army from November 11, 1950 until his honorable discharge on November 8, 1952.

Survivors include one son, James G. (Karen) Stratton of Buffalo, WY; four daughters, Sheri (Gale) Coleman of Hot Springs; Teresa (Kelly) Christensen of Boise, ID; Suz-Ette (Bill) Lewis of Newell, SD; Lisa (Tom) Rasmussen of Boise, ID; three brothers, Joe (Betty Lou) Stratton of Kadoka, SD; Stanley (Mary) Stratton of Oklahoma City, OK; Gary (Janet) Stratton of Hays, KS; one sister, Elaine Staben of Bozeman, MT; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; son, Scott, parents; and two brothers, Jay and Jack.

Memorial Services will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hot Springs with Pastor Dan Barcus officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2010, at the Kaycee Cemetery in Kaycee, WY, with Pastor Matt Lim officiating.
