Obituary
James Derald 'Jim' Kane, age 75, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away October 16, 2011, at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs.
Jim was born October 15, 1936, in Hot Springs to Cyril and Gertrude (Konrath) Kane. He was raised by his loving grandmother, Theresa Konrath. Jim attended school at Edgemont, SD, and proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Most of Jim's life was spent ranching on his Grandmother's homestead at Rumford, SD, and the Pines Ranch south of Hot Springs. Jim was a member of the SD Stockgrowers and the Hot Springs Elks Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Barbara of Hot Springs; children, Bobbie Jo (Donald) Allan of Panama City Beach, FL; Neal (Rosie) Ferdig of Tigard, OR; grandchildren, Lyndsey, Amanda and Justin as well as two great grandchildren, Jackson and Emma.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs with Dr. J. Edwin Coates officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the Hot Springs Public Library.
