James Francis Muhm, age 79, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away on December 1, 2016, at the Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Springs.
James was born in Cottonwood, SD, on February 17, 1937, to Wayne and Mae (Beeson) Muhm. He spent his youth at Igloo, Black Hills Ordnance Depot, and attended school there and where he graduated as an honor student. Later he joined the United States Air Force. James was stationed the majority of his service time at RAF Alconbury, England, where he met his future wife, Marion Robinson. They got married in England and their son, Carl was born there. In 1964, they moved to South Dakota, USA. To this union two more sons were born in Hot Springs, Dale and Michael.
James loved hunting, fishing, and photography with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne, Eugene, William, Tom; and sister, Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; sons, Carl of Hot Springs; Dale (Angie) of Custer; Michael of Choteau, MT; grandsons, Adam, Andrew; granddaughters, Amber (Derek); Ashley; Alex (Cory); great grandson, Noah; sisters, Dolores, Teresa and Shirley.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs with Ministers John Simons and Chris Swenson officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Minister Phyllis Williams and Military Honors by the United States Air Force and Sturgis Veterans Honor Guards.
