Jean Ellen Bastian, 91, of Hot Springs, SD passed away on November 17, 2022 at Fall River Health Services.

Jean was born May 14, 1931 in Yankton, SD to Eva and Leonard Knutson. She grew up in Tyndall. In November 1950 she married Donn Bastian.

Jean enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and cooking and baking for her family. Donn and Jean loved going camping in the Black Hills and wintering in Arizona and California.

Survivors include her children, Diane (Gary) Kost of Aberdeen; Bruce Bastian of Omaha, NE; Craig (Shannon) Bastian of Casper, WY; four grandchildren, Kyle Kost, Kayla Pickle and Caitlin Grosenheider, three great-grandchildren, Camden and Taya Pickle and Madisyn Kost; two nephews and a niece, Barry(Ari Cruse) Bastian, Nancy (Joel) Brown, and Lee (Marnie) Bastian.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 28,2023 at St John's Lutheran Church in HotSprings, SD.  Committal services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Aril 28, 2023 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.
