Jeffrey Joe 'Jeff' Eckholt, age 61, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away on July 8, 2014, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hot Springs.

Jeff was born on February 16, 1953, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Clare and Ann (Teeman) Eckholt. Jeff graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, in 1971, and then served in the US Air Force from 1971-1974. He provided for his wife, Becky (Long) Eckholt, as a carpenter and plumber at Hander Plumbing in Sioux Falls. Jeff loved gardening, sitting on the porch, and barbecuing with family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the DAV, and the VFW. He had a heart of gold and was always there for you when you needed help, was willing to give anything to anyone in need.

Survivors include wife, Becky L. Eckholt; daughters, Kari (Chris) Hybertson of Sioux Falls; Brooke Helton of Belle Fourche, SD; Jennifer Turner of Hot Springs; son, Adam (Elise Gabelein-Fiance)of Clinton, WA; brother, Gary Eckholt of Clearlake, IA; grandchildren, Teigen; Owen; Jack; J.J.; and Zayden.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jan and Kathy; aunt, Jan; uncle, John; granddaughter, Madysen; and his beloved dog, Bogie.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014, at, 502 N. 25th St., Hot Springs, SD.
