Jeffrey Wilbur Kazmer of Hot Springs, South Dakota died November 29th, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was 67 years old.
Jeff was born to Frank Wilbur Kazmer and Valerie Reid Yeaton in Framingham, Massachusetts on December 10th, 1949. He moved a lot with his parents and 3 brothers, as the army would transfer his father.
Jeff followed in his father's footsteps and did a stint in the military. It made him question why people suffer in this world and he wanted satisfactory answers to his many thought provoking questions. His extensive search began and led him to study with a high school friend who was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved what he learned and because he was a compassionate person he wanted to share this new knowledge with everyone he could. He was baptized and became a full-time evangelizer, for a time.
Later, he married Rowena Louise Perry in his parents' home in Costa Mesa, California on September 23rd, 1972. Together they raised four children, two of which were born at home, and after moving to help family multiple times, they eventually settled in Hot Springs, South Dakota for the 2nd time in 1988.
Jeff knew that when he died he would only be asleep in death for a short time and would be resurrected to a paradise earth. He found great joy in his dear friends in the Truth, as well as memories of surfing, playing basketball and writing poetry. He also loved reptiles, animals of all kinds, studying, reading, whistling, popping and hiking through the Black Hills.
He is survived by his wife, Rena; children Pasha (& Alanna), Nakia, Shakira (& Arturo Quintana) and Tobia; brothers Barry, John (& Molly) and Mark (& Marcia); six grandchildren; and lots of other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
His memorial will be Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at 2 P.M. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hot Springs, South Dakota. All are welcome.
