JoAnn Kuhnel, 71, passed away at her home in Keystone, SD, surrounded by her loving family on November 10, 2017.

JoAnn was born on September 14, 1946, to Clinton Caylor and Myrle (Williams) Caylor in Hot Springs, SD. As an adult she owned a Rock Shop in Keystone, SD.

JoAnn's love of rocks and strong work ethic were instrumental in making the family business, The Rock Shed, a success. She was well known for her kindness & generosity. Employees of the family business were treated like family and often benefited from her homemade goodies.

She was a loving wife to her husband Gene for 52 years and her sons Steve & Shawn benefited from her guiding hands. One of Steve's fondest childhood memories is brushing his mom's long hair for a dime. Both of her sons enjoyed joking with her and making her laugh. Her smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Gene Kuhnel; sons, Steve (Angie) Kuhnel; Shawn (Janelle) Kuhnel; brother, Rick Caylor; sisters, Patsy Caylor; Delores Vick; Janet Caylor; and grandchildren, Stephanie; Justin; Cayla and Shawn Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Lady of Mount Carmel in Keystone, SD, Fr. Janusz Korban will be officiating. Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD at a later date.

A memorial has been established in JoAnn's name to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
