John Gallegos, 80, of Buffalo Gap, SD passed away May 1, 2007 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

John was born December 12, 1926 to Esquipula and Leonor (Chaves) Gallegos in Edgemont, SD. He was a long time resident of the Rapid City area.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly of Buffalo Gap, SD; three daughters, Pam (Terry) Logan of Durango, CO; Geralyn (Bob) Baer of Gillette, WY; Kathy (Eric) Hilding of Montrose, CO; two sisters, Louise DeLeon of Rapid City, SD; Delores Torres of Edgemont, SD and six grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Wake services will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2007 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2007 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Fr. Peter Kovarik officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in John's name to benefit the new building fund for St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.
