John J (Big John) Leui of Hot Springs died February 19, 2022 at Pine Hills Assisted Living Center.

John was born December 3rd, 1931 to Fred and Luella Leui in New Rumley, Ohio. He married Marguerite (Peggy) Keeney on February 6, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They had just celebrated their 67th anniversary.

John farmed outside of Martin, SD for over 50 years and had several hobbies-he learned to fly and then had several motorcycles. He loved to fish and won many trophies.

He leaves to mourn his wife Peggy, five children: son Gary of Helena, MT, daughter Connie Gray (Fred Woltz) of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter Karla (John) Kirk of Custer, SD, son Kevin (Kathy) Leui of Rapid City, SD, and daughter Karen (Scott) Loechler of St. Charles, MN; sister Bonnie Morris of Rapid City, SD; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and countless friends he made.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one grandson.

Committal services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Martin Community Cemetery in Martin, SD, with Reverend Sam Thomas officiating.
