John Matsamas, age 67, passed away October 12, 2008 at his home in Oelrichs, SD.

John was born July 1, 1941 to Tony and Ida (Lloyd) Matsamas in Price, Utah. On August 26, 1960 he married Frances Pourier. John and Frances moved to Oelrichs in 1968, he worked as a machine operator, carpenter iron worker and mechanic. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 27. In 1984 he opened his own business R & J First Stop Auto & Body. He spent many years fixing and repairing vehicles for the kids.

John is survived by his wife, Frances of Oelrichs; three sons, Calvin & Tracy of Hot Springs, SD; Joey & Grace of Oelrichs; Rick & Rhonda of Oelrichs; two daughters, Kelley & Dave of Oelrichs; Sherry & Gary of Hot Springs; twenty grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Tony & Pat of Utah; brothers-in-law, Wayne & Rita of Spearfish, SD; Larry & Teri; Donny Pourier; Doug Pourier of Rapid City, SD; Kenny & Ruth Pourier of Oelrichs and sister-in-law, AlMarie & Les of CA. and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Irene.

Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.
