John L. Prall, age 77, of Hot Springs, SD. passed away April 21, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hot Springs.

John was born in Alliance, NE on July 12, 1930 to John G and Julia Hazel (Hafner) Prall. He joined the National Guard in 1947 and was mobilized in 1950 during the Korean War, and served in France and Germany with B Company 109th Engineers Combat Battalion. On January 22, 1949 he married Lois Williams. They spent most of their married life in Hot Springs.

John was a member if the Hot Springs Amateur Radio Club, a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion. He worked at the Veterans Administration in Hot Springs for thirty years.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Lois.

Survivors include two cousins as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs with Pastor 'Jake' Jacobson officiating.

Committal will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2008 at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. Military honors provided by the Sturgis Honor Guard.

A memorial has been established in John's name to benefit the Hot Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
