John Kirk Risdon, 75, of Rapid City, SD, passed away June 22, 2018, at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs, SD.

John was born in Indianapolis, IN, on October 14, 1942, to John Oren and Elenore Louise (Kirkpatrick) Risdon. He proudly served in the U.S Air Force as an Independent Duty Medic from June of 1964 until his retirement in December of 1986. John served two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he worked at the Rapid City Regional Hospital as a sleep lab technician for 23 years.

John was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

John is survived by his loving wife of nearly 33 years, JoAnn, of Rapid City; son, Joel (Ramona) Risdon of Minot, ND; stepsons, Shawn Hockenson of Rapid City; Joshua Hockenson of Portland, OR; and granddaughter, Hannah.

Private family committal services will be held at a later date at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
