Jonathan passed away suddenly on February 16, 2024 at the age of 42.

He is survived by his mother Sandy;  brother, Jason;  sister in-law, Lauren  and two nieces, Alice and Claire. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff and father, Rod.

He was born on May 13, 1981, in Denver, CO to Sandra and Rodney Staley.

He and his mother, lifelong residents of Colorado, recently moved to Custer, SD, to join his brother and family who moved to Custer last summer.   He graduated from Kiowa High School and attended college at Western Colorado University in Gunnison and University of Hawaii, while his brother was stationed there in the U.S.  Navy.  Most of his adult life he worked as a carpenter and in the construction business along with being a driver for FedEx for multiple years.  He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, mountain biking, hiking and was a lifelong fan of all Colorado sports teams and mainly the Denver Broncos.  He loved the outdoors and especially the Rocky Mountains and recently the Black Hills.  Jonathan will be missed by his family and many friends.

Christian Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Custer, S.D.
