Judith Hoover, 77, of Custer, SD, passed away May 30, 2019.
She was born on June 25, 1942, in Dickinson, North Dakota, to Joseph and Emelia Reisenauer.
Judy started in music at a young age playing mandolin and performing with the Reisenauer Family on radio, standing on a milk stool to reach the mic.
She continued to perform through the years in North Dakota and Montana, including the Glasgow Airforce Base, eventually moving to Las Vegas where she joined Frankie Carr's Nov-Elites as a singer and guitarist. They performed at many military bases, including Alaska and Iceland.
She married Harold Eugene Hoover on February 16, 1983, and shortly after moved to South Dakota where they purchased and managed Hoover Trailer Court.
Judy had many interests and hobbies throughout her life, some of her favorites being blackjack dealing, animal rescue and running Fly Speck Billy Antique Store with her sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Hoover; sister, Lillian Emmett; brothers-in-laws, Darrell Emmett and Phil Guthmiller; sister-in-law, Carol Reisenauer and her beloved pets.
Judy is survived by her siblings, Elsie Guthmiller and Leroy Reisenauer; nieces, Verna (John) Kreutz; Brenda Emmett; Wanda (Steve) Jenkins; Carla Reisenauer; nephew, Darin (Donna) Emmett; great nieces, Amanda and Katelyn Jenkins; great nephews, Gerry and Travis Ryan, Dayton and Devin Emmett.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 5 th , 2019 , at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD with Pastor Deb Grismer as officiant.
Committal services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD.
