Judy Pond, 84, of Custer, SD, passed away January 3, 2024 in Custer, SD.

Judy was born May 24, 1939, in Minnesota to George and Dorothy (Long) Morris.  She married Albert R. Pond in 1956 and they started their family.

Judy was an animal lover. She always had deer and turkeys in the yard. She fed a large assortment of wild birds daily. Judy worked locally at the hospital, nursing home, motels and a number of private homes that she kept up. She spent much of her life caring for her parents and brothers in their later years. Having her gran kids around and then when great grand kids came along it was a high-lite in her life. Her neighborhood was very important to her because of whom she shared it with.

Judy is survived by her children, Bert (Lori) Pond of Custer; Wayne (Sue) Pond of Nunda, SD; Dana Krosch of Custer; grandchildren, Amanda (Tom) O'Conner; Shanna (Darren) Fischer; Chad (Keli) Pond; step grandchildren, Brand (Melanie) Kopp; Korie Housley; Carrie (Josh) Grey; Shaun (Brenda) Wood and great grandchildren, Ethan O'Connor; Eli O'Connor; Austyn Fischer; Grayson Pond and Kynlee Pond.

Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD.
