Kathleen Ann "Katy" Cacek Lester, age 65, of Custer, SD, passed away on April 29, 2016, at the Custer Regional Hospital in Custer.

Katy was born on October 11, 1950, to Roy A. and Claudine (Johns) Cacek in Alta, IA. She was very social, loved to travel, was well versed in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Indian Culture and Geography in general. Katy loved learning and teaching others while residing at her home in Custer. She was a traveling Registered Nurse and had a BA + Masters Degree in Psychology. Her hobbies included Journalism and reading.

Katy is survived by her mother, Claudine Cacek of Custer; brother, Bryce T.(Sue) Cacek, Sr. of Nevada, IA; Linda (Bruce) Holmes of Custer; niece, Tammy (Brad) Hicken and their daughter, Carrington of Lincoln, NE; nephews, Bryce T. (Kristina) Cacek, Jr. and their son Matthew of San Antonio, TX; Roy A.(Holly) Cacek their daughter, Claire of Des Moines, IA; niece, Erika Cacek and her sons Drew and Dillon; and nephew, Michael Cacek.

She is preceded in death by her Dad, Roy A. Cacek and brother, Raymond Cacek.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer.

Committal services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Custer Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Jeri Behringer officiating.

Pallbearers will be Katy's brother, Bryce T. Cacek Sr.; brother-in-law, Bruce L. Holmes; nephew, Bradley Hicken; cousin, Brad Calhoon; friend, Joe Pilgrim; and friend, Frank Raffael.
