Obituary

Keith M Roeser left this earth and joined his wife on May 20 th 2019 in Custer, SD at the age of 80. Keith passed peacefully with his son at his side.

Keith is survived by his children, Jerry Roeser of Custer SD and Terisa Enstad of Cedar Brook , NJ; siblings, Patricia Teegarden of Trego, WI; Sherri Teegarden of Spooner, WI; Mary Nowaczyk of Trego, WI; Diane Teegarden of Trego WI; Effie Folkert of Spokane WA, Brother in Law Jimmy Ray & Mary Fechner of Custer, SD. He also was survived by his Grandchildren Shae, Shannon, and Matt Enstad of NJ and a number of adoring nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by wife Darlene Roeser of Custer, SD; Mother Helen Teegarden and Father Donald Teegarden of Trego WI, Sister Margie Teegarden of Chicago IL, Brother in law Ron Fechner of Custer, SD.

Keith was born on August 6 th , 1938 in Spooner WI to Helen and Donald Teegarden.  After finishing high school Keith served in the Army for two years 11 months of which a full year was spent overseas. Keith was very proud to have served his country.  During his service he trained as an electrician and he earned a sharpshooter ribbon.  Upon leaving the service, Keith travel cross country where he settled in South Dakota. He fell in love with the Black Hills but also met and fell in love with Darlene Fechner.  Keith and Darlene were married in 1966 and decided to raise a family in Custer. Keith and Darlene were married for 50 years at the time of Darlene's passing.

Keith was an accomplished logger, hunter, and fisherman. He was very well known for his work ethic, humor and kindness which shows in the many stories that friends and family tell about Keith. He was also the older brother to 6 sisters that he loved dearly. Keith would never miss a summer vacation to visit and spend time with his Wisconsin family and once he no longer could travel many of his sisters would come to SD to visit him multiple times a year to see him. Upon anyone telling Keith that they loved him, his answer was always the same, he loved them more.

A funeral is scheduled for June 15th 10:00 am at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer SD with a reception to follow at the basement of the Custer VFW at noon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Keith's life. Keith's family would also send a special thank you to the Custer Senior Care staff for the long term care and love they showed him since 2005 and the many many hugs shared along with the staff at the Regional Health Custer Hospital during the last month of his life.
