Kelly Jo Avery, age 39 of Custer, SD passed away October 30, 2008 in Custer.

Kelly was born August 22, 1969 to George P. and Janelle (Karpiak) Avery in Newcastle, WY. She graduated from Upton High School in Upton, WY in 1987. She also graduated from Gillette School of Cosmetology in Gillette, WY.

She lived in Scotland with her mother and step-father for many years and traveled widely throughout the UK, Norway and Europe. After returning to the United States she lived on a ranch outside Upton with her mother, step-father and step-brothers.

Kelly is survived by her mother, Janelle Avery of Stuart, FL; her father, George Avery of Wendover, NV; brother, George Avery of Douglas, WY; her children, Layne, Cole and Payton Barton of Plano, TX and her step-father, B.J. Ankeney of Newcastle, WY. Also her Aunt Ann Perovanovic of Denver, CO and Uncle Michael Perovanovic of Orland Park, IL as well as numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Peter and Elizabeth (Betty) Perovanovic and paternal grandparents, Les and Mae Avery; also Clara Philbrick of Newcastle, WY and Uncle Jimmy Karpiak of Chicago, IL.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer.
